Sterling Silver Ginkgo Leaf Pendant - Small - Sassy
$62.00
NOTE: THE GINKGO PENDANTS COME IN THREE SIZES - THIS ONE IS THE SMALL SIZE.
The ginkgo is often a symbol of endurance and strength, because of the four ginkgo trees near Hiroshima, Japan that were the only living things in their location to survive the atomic blast in 1945. I am told that they survive to this day.
Recently I passed a ginkgo tree and was amazed by the variations of the leaf shapes on a single tree. This necklace (and similar pendants and earrings listed elsewhere on my site) are the result of the inspiration from that tree.
This ginkgo leaf has been hand fabricated, which means that I saw the shape from a sheet of metal (sterling silver on one side and brass on the reverse) with a jeweler's saw, smooth the edges, texture the surface with a file, and use hammering techniques to adjust the shape. The brass side is sealed with lacquer to protect the patina and the wearer's skin.
This pendent is .75" (20 mm) x 1.125" (27 mm) in size, has a handmade bail and includes an 20” sterling silver double-rope chain with a lobster clasp. An 18" chain can be substituted for same price. Just send me a message with your order requesting this.
Please also see the companion sterling silver ginkgo leaf earrings listed separately.
